David Desiderio Ybáñez was born in El Paso, Texas, and spent much of his childhood immersed in the world of art. From a young age, he explored various mediums and techniques—from oil painting to drawing with India ink and dip pen—leading him to win multiple art competitions at both regional and national levels.

His ongoing fascination with surrealism, abstract art, and the avant-garde has significantly influenced much of his work. A sense of spontaneity and impulsiveness dominates his decision-making, creating what his mind’s eye hasn’t fully envisioned but intuitively sees, as if he must decipher the subject through the process of bringing it into the physical realm.

Alongside art, he dedicates his time to various creative disciplines, including photography, videography, music, and writing. He also specializes in real estate and commercial photography and is a licensed drone pilot.

David is vegan and enjoys working out.  He’s a devout Christian, loves listening to different genres of music and watching obscure films. Later this year, a children’s book he illustrated will be printed and published.
